Dame Clare Gerada is a GP and Medical Director of NHS Practitioner Health. She has held a number of national roles including being Senior Policy Advisor to the Department of Health, Drugs and Alcohol and Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the first female chair in over fifty years. In 2019 she was appointed as co-chair of the team behind the NHS’ long-term strategy. Her ground-breaking work in addiction and substance misuse over the course of her career led to her being awarded the DBE in 2020. She is currently President of Royal College of General Practitioners.
